This, in case you haven’t guessed, is my older brother Chauncey, whom we all call Paunnie. He’s 8 and a half, very athletic, and weighs about 83, down from his all time high of 93, which frightened Mommis because he has skinny legs.

He’s VERY hyper, and I guess he’s the reason we go for so many walks even though we have a half acre back yard AND we have all Mommis’s friends being their dogs over and throw balls to us.

And this is me. I’m boofus, and much more interesting, because I’m not a total golden. But I

have never told Mommis what the rest of me is.  She thinks it’s Chow-Chow, because her

dog Emmett, who came before me in her life, had to be put to sleep right before I came to her. She thinks I have some Emmett in me because I don’t always listen. But I don’t feel the necessity to confess to her, so I’ve kept my air of mystery. I’m subtle. I’m surreptitious, and I get away with a lot because I keep looking like a puppy, even though I am five — or is it six?

I will always answer to Buppy the Puppy:-)

First Wrigley, who almost never runs, started running after it and barking. You could see that he was about to challenge it to a fight. I thought I had better help him, so I took after it too, and we tried to run it down.

Paunnie isn’t that fast anymore, but he still tried to chase it with us. It kept on getting away from us across the field, but it was fun to run after it. We got a good workout.

We’re always amazed by the speed at which Wrigley can move when he’s motivated.  He spends most of our walks half a park behind Pam, making her call him and clap for him.  And then you find out that he’s very able to run when he wants to.

I love it when I make Mommis laugh. I hate it when I make her mad.  When I run away I make her mad.  I know it, but I just can’t stop.

She did though. I have no fur on my body and furry arms.

This morning we went to the park and it was trying to rain and make it cooler.

The rainbow came almost before the rain!

Fruit Girl Goes to Market

Mommis went to the Farmer’s Market in Half Moon Bay with us this morning after our walk along the Coastal trail. She goes every week, but she usually leaves us home because dogs are not allowed.

But this morning we were in the car, and she came back to us all excited.

“I met a girl at the Farmer’s Market who has a blog,” she said.

“Aaarggh,” I thought. “Everything in her life is about blogs and tech and people. Can’t more in her life be about dogs.?”

But I live in the moment, so I forgot my envy. She told me the girls were pretty and studying about nutrition. I love food. Paunnie loves it even more. So we are going to follow her blog, which is called Fruit Girl Goes to Market.

When we came home and Mommis read the blog, she told me melon is really a vegetable, though it’s sold as a fruit. She didn’t know that.  I didn’t know that. I eat kibble, myself

So last night when she went out to dinner, I thought I would do my own due diligence and see what was inside one of these.  I had to take it off the kitchen table and carry it all the way outside through the dog door to the back yard.  It’s a big book, lots of maps and charts, and it was really heavy! By the time I got it out there, I had lost my appetite for the due diligence.

I left it out there, knowing she would find it, because I left the smaller folder that was with it and I knew she would remember there were two of them. I left that one on the kitchen floor for her.

And then I took a big long nap and nursed my aching jaw.  I don’t think being an investor is any fun at all, and those binders taste terrible. No wonder everybody keeps them on a shelf and never takes them down.

.. No one’s here but us, and today’s the day you’re supposed to make your mom breakfast in bed, right?

How about a shoe? Nah, I know she doesn’t want a shoe; I’ve never seen her eat one of those before. Not for breakfast, anyway. Sometimes she gives us something she cooked for dinner that tastes like shoe, but breakfast isn’t shoes.

Grass. She eats grass for lunch, but all her special grass is in the refrigerator and the door seems to be completely closed for once. I have tried opening it until my nose is sore. The only cabinet I can open in the kitchen is the one with my food and the tools. I know she doesn’t eat my food and nobody eats pliers that I have ever seen, not even me and Paunnie and we are very good eaters.k

I’ve surfed the counter and I can’t each the fruit. There’s bananas and oranges up there, I know, but I can’t reach them.

I could just re-gift her the headset I took out to the yard to play with last week, but that’s too cheesy.

If I jumped on the kitchen table and walked on that other counter could I find anything? A sponge? Anything good in the sink?

I got it! We will take her out to breakfast. Paunnie can bark, and then i will bark, and to shut us up she will take us to the park. And after the park she will go to Starbucks and buy herself a frappacino! That’s what she wants! Let’s get at it.

She’s right. I’m such a good boy. I love my Mommis on Mother’s Day.

Paunnie tried to get her down, and he actually jumped all the way up there himself finally. Then she had to have Uncle Ed hold her hand to get her down. She’s afraid of heights, she knows she is, and she should have remembered that before she went up there all posing for pictures and stuff.

We had a great time in Gilbert, though. Bo and Toley were her from Camp Fluppy Puppy. Usually they are only in Half Moon Bay, but somehow they have been at our house this week. They came in a big white car.

We swam in the dog lake and fetched and ran around.  I fell in love. With a brown and white Dalmatian name Natasha, She was very white and beautiful, and I followed her around like a real fool. And then it was time for us to leave, and I had to say good-bye to her forever.

Two more days of Camp Fluppy Puppy and then Bo and Toley leave. Bummer.

I miss him already. He was little, but very interesting.

We ran and ran until I almost dropped, and it was so much fun!!! Mommis made us leave before it was over, but I was tired anyway. I’m out of shape for that kind of exercise.

I actually had never seen Wrigley run before this morning, bcause he always walks slowly behind us or just stands there between Aunt Pam’s legs. I thought he couldn’t run, but he’s been layin’ low all this time.  But that Parker, she’s so-o-o fast. We saw her self-walking one morning in the park, and I knew she had some stray in her.

Chaunce didn’t even try to keep up with us, but Zoe did. She made the game end, because she got the metal dog in her mouth and started to shake it. That made Mr. Brandon mad at her.

The boy told us his metal dog cost $600. It must be a purebred.  I think Chaunce cost $500, and he came with papers, but I cost $35. Most of the other dogs were in the $35 range, too, That means you could get two dozen real dogs for the prize of that one buzzing dog.
