Fruit Girl Goes to Market

Mommis went to the Farmer’s Market in Half Moon Bay with us this morning after our walk along the Coastal trail. She goes every week, but she usually leaves us home because dogs are not allowed.

But this morning we were in the car, and she came back to us all excited.

“I met a girl at the Farmer’s Market who has a blog,” she said.

“Aaarggh,” I thought. “Everything in her life is about blogs and tech and people. Can’t more in her life be about dogs.?”

But I live in the moment, so I forgot my envy. She told me the girls were pretty and studying about nutrition. I love food. Paunnie loves it even more. So we are going to follow her blog, which is called Fruit Girl Goes to Market.

When we came home and Mommis read the blog, she told me melon is really a vegetable, though it’s sold as a fruit. She didn’t know that. I didn’t know that. I eat kibble, myself

A Dog Loves His Habits

Mommis finally took us on a warm afternoon walk over our old trail. For weeks now we’ve been going to the beach, to Maverick’s, t0 all the great places, but I’ve missed our old trail where we used to go every day. Today, we made a triumphant return.

This is the Pacific Open Space Trail, which is a protected stretch of land from Golden Gate Bridge to Half Moon Bay. It’s all trails, and we live right near it! We’re lucky dogs.

There’s a lot of good stuff to smell and eat on this trail.

I Won’t Train Up

Look at Paunnie being on good boyness. He’s just a sucker for food. But we’re out on our walk, and I resent trying to be trained on my walk. I’m not that hungry, and it’s a beautiful day.

Karoli came to see us, and she likes the beach. Mommis doesn’t like it, because of the sand in the car and the house. But when Karoli said “Let’s take the dogs to the beach, Mommis had to be a good hostess, so she did it!

I like the beach because I can play with the water and I can run. Every once in a while, I get to talk to another dog, too. Saturday we got to talk to a pug, although once Paunnie ran up to it and started barking, the pug wasn’t that anxious to meet me. I had to wait until Paunnie left (he has ADD) and then introduce myself.

I’m the greeter.

While Foreclosures Increase…

We continue to go to camp. We are not affected by real estate market oscillations. Our only real estate is the POST trail on the Coastside in California. But we had quite an adventurous walk this morning. Paunnie and Bo got into an immediate fight over a stick.

Paunnie won. It was a bummer for Bo.

Bo had to sit around and watch Paunnie play, and you could see he was depressed.

He kept on trying to get it from Paunnie, and Aunt Chelsea kept trying to create distractions, but nothing worked. Paunnie is that kind of obsessive who only gets more stubborn when you try to change his mind.

His teeth grip harder and harder. And poor Bo was looking real sad

But he figured out a way to triumph. He took his little brother Ko and they both disappeared into the foliage. When they emerged, each one was carrying a stick. Then he seemed a lot happier. At the end of the walk, he was the boy with the big stick, and Paunnie just seemed stunned. The universe is karmic, I say.

Parenthetically, I must tell you that I could care less about sticks. I just like to run through the trail and get as much exercise as I can while mom and Auntie Belle talk about the real estate market and everybody’s work problems.

They are using the walk to vent and regain their perspective. I’m a dog; I never lose my perspective.
