The vet drove up to Carolyn’s house this morning and put Sadie Lane to sleep. Her cancer was very aggressive and Carolyn didn’t want her to suffer. Paunnie saw it all, because he was in the window. That’s why he looks so sad.
I was in the back yard with Lucky Lane; we babysat her because Carolyn didn’t want him to see what was going on. She’s only a puppy.
Well, she’s almost two, like I am. Sadie was twelve. Carolyn was crying. The rumor is that Carolyn gave her a last supper of Chinese food. She loved Chinese food. She was a springer spaniel, and I think they like almost any food. Carolyn also offered Sadie a vodka and tonic, and a little walk. Mommis went over to say good-bye this morning and she saw Sadie walk. It didn’t look good. She wouldn’t have been happy. She wouldn’t be able to swim, and she would just have more cancer.
